For some time now Don Lancaster of "The Guru's Lair" and "Tinaja Quest" has been touting his unique methodology of creating sinewaves using a modified PWM technique which requires much less storage space for the sine tables and very low harmonic content. Has anyone actually tried this method for motor drives? Here are some links:

I think you might have missed the point- Not that sine tables are being used, but the principles behind his calculations for pushing the wasteful harmonics to near zero while using the minimal number of switching events. I too am curious if these are still applicable today, and if this or something similar is in common use?
