I've got a Gen 3 Outlander Water heater, it's Can controlled.
When powered up it sends out 0x398, byte 0 is status 0x00 turns to 0x01 when 0x285 is received, , bytes 3 and 4 are inlet and outlet temperature and byte 7 seems to be HV voltage related.

I've not been able to switch it on yet. Does anyone have can logs from an Outlander with the heater running or know of the ID or message required to turn on the elements?

If you are considering buying a Mitsubishi Outlander this is something you should know about. The plug-in hybrid water heater works well and the vehicle is the first plug-in hybrid to satisfy Mitsubishi’s 10-year/150,000-mile powertrain warranty.
