Hi All!

I have a car with a dead engine, which I am having trouble to replace, and the idea of going electric started to seem like a good option.

So being a complete newbie I have no idea where to start...

Using the old engine block to serve as a cradle?

How to choose the best electric engine?

It just has to somehow fit the old engine flywheel? Any advice here?

Is this it? Am I missing something important?

Yes batteries and maybe regenerative brakes, but that would be phase II and III... :)

Thank you very much.

Best regards,
José Rui

I am not at that level yet... :)

Just trying to understand the general scheme of how it's done...

The car is a Opel Monterey, basically the same as a Isuzu trooper, with a 6VD1 gas engine.

I was thinking that the first step would be finding the best way to fit the electric engine...

What do you have in mind? I have no idea what has to be done first...
