So far, I have 3 12-volt batteries that will power an electrical engine that handles up to 36 volts. I have yet disassemble the gas-related parts of the atv. My goal is to get 10 hp out of it. I have the motor controller, wires, bolts. Everything else, like the transmissions and gears is already in the fully functional Max IV ATV. I know this is very broad, but is there any guidance you guys can offer me? I don't need a precise step-by-step process but just some tips and suggestions you would do in my situation. Thank you

Follow this guy's method :) http://www.diyelectriccar.com/forums/showthread.php/road-legal-streetquad-conversion-80380.html

There are some more modest builds on this forum. Or search the EVAlbum. You can find quite a few examples of nice ATV conversions. Not many, if any, use a transmission. Just a chain.
