My whole, feverish EV research phase started when I realized that my truck is a horrible option to drive 40 miles (round trip to college), twice a week. Then, I found this article.
Now I'm hooked, however; I believe my best option is not to go full EV, but to make a hybrid (a parallel if possible). I do a combination of town driving and highway driving, almost daily. So if I could turn some old $3000 sedan with at least 25 MPG into a 40 MPG Toyota Prius, I'd be happy. I'm just in the beginning of my research and I have almost no mechanical knowledge, but I'm willing to learn or outsource the work to someone else, if needed.
I know its a little off-topic for the forum, but if someone could lead me in the right direction, I'm not hard of learning and would appreciate it greatly.
