Hi Everyone,

I have a large GE, DC, series wound motor from a Clark forkllift. It is approx. 13 inches in Diameter and weighs a ton! Probably 350lbs. the nameplate says 36/48vdc. I am assuming this is 10-15hp. Can someone please direct me to a "standard", affordable CONTROLLER (ie. Curtis?) that I can use to regulate motor speed when it is installed in my vintage truck. Thanks in advance to all.

Nice big 'ol GE motor there. Ought to have plenty of torque for a truck conversion provided it's not too heavy.

Curtis 1204 or 1205 seems to be their biggest series-wound controller. 500A peak is probably enough but it might be worth looking for something that'll go up to 600A or 700A peak to get the best performance. Possibly also look into getting brushes that are better than stock. Others here know more than me about this kind of thing so I'll just leave it at that.
