The State of Texas is revoking titles for dune buggies and sand rails right now.

But this is just a diversion and the warm-up act...

The first paragraph in the rule gives them the power to make it illegal to drive just about every clsssic car still on the road. In a single stroke of an unelected beaurocrats pen, almost every enthusiast's dream car becomes illegal too. Oh, by the way so does every DIY electric car ever made!

If you read section 6 of http://texreg.sos.state.tx.us/public/readtac$ext.TacPage?sl=R&app=2&p_dir=&p_rloc=181200&p_tloc=&p_ploc=&pg=1&p_tac=181200&ti=43&pt=10&ch=217&rl=3&dt=&z_chk=2907524&z_contains=buggy

You will find this gem:
(6) Not Eligible for Title. The following are not eligible for a Texas title regardless of the vehicle's previous title and/or registration in this or any other jurisdiction: (A) vehicles that are missing or are stripped of their motor, frame, or body, to the extent that it materially alters the manufacturer's original design or makes the vehicle unsafe for on-road operation as determined by the department;

This is so blatent that it even makes greening up a classic by putting in a modern emissions controlled engine illegal.

If you live in Texas, you need to put some heat on your state representative.

No matter where you live, you need to contact your representatives and let them know you will not stand for these kinds of dirty under-handed smokey backroom deals, especally when they directly harm the inventors and makers while doing nothing good for the average person. Remind them of what happens when you stand in the path of progress.

Congress needs to act to block this in all States.

The DIY Electric Car is making an impact. This attack proves you are making a difference.
