I am working on converting a 1968 GMC truck into a EV parade float. There is currently no motor or transmission in the truck. I am thinking since it is low speed that I can connect a electric motor directly to the rear axel.
As this is all new to me, I though I would ask here where should I start reading. Would something like a forklift motor work?
Open to any ideas at this point.
