The Baltimore Green Forum, a small environmental discussion group, plans to have a presentation on electric cars on Sunday, November 22. The speaker will be:

Jill A. T. Sorensen
BEVI - Baltimore Electric Vehicle Initiative

The meeting will be from 4-5:30 PM followed by an open Q&A session to 6:30, after which some of us have dinner at a very good local Chinese restaurant. Is there anyone in the Greater Baltimore (North) area with an electric vehicle they could drive to the meeting to show and demonstrate? It would be best to arrive about 3:00 PM ahead of the meeting.

There may be someone attending with a Tesla, and I also may invite representatives of commercially available EVs such as the Volt. Please follow up on this thread or contact me by PM for more details. We are having our first meeting of the year today. Here is our website:

Thanks!

We only had about 8 people in attendance, and only one electric car, a Nissan Leaf. The presenter also has a Velomobile that she uses in the city. I had stopped at the local Nissan dealer a while ago and they had a new Leaf that gets 200 miles/charge, but it was in the showroom and I would need to make an appointment for a test drive. They don't seem to be very enthusiastic about promoting their electric car. I think they are mostly motivated by quick, easy sales and commissions.

Our next BGF meeting will be the fourth Sunday in January. At this point we don't have a presenter or topic. Anyone is welcome to attend, and we would like to have volunteers to make a presentation on any "green" topic. We could revisit EVs later on.
