Hi, I'm new here btw, but I want to make a bike or tricycle of some sort, and there is this Emerson c55cxjbd-4353 motor for a water pump for sale, it seems strong enough but I wanted to know if it could be used as a "normal" motor, instead of in a pump. I feel like it could but I want to be sure before buying it. I will be running it from batteries with an inverter, so if you have any other suggestions, don't hesitate to tell me!

You can use any motor, that one included, with an inverter... but don't.

If your goal is to be thrifty, you still have to be smartly thrifty.

Custom inverters are going to be so expensive you might as well just find a more suitable motor instead. 1phase motors aren't a good choice.

A small 3 phase motor from a scrapyard would probably do you better, and you could still use an E-bike inverter of some kind to drive it.
