Re: [EVDL] All of original Tesla patents

There have been several threads mentioning Nicola Tesla in the last few
months so I did not know which would be best to tag on to. The current
September issue of Popular Mechanics had a very short article on what
MIT is doing with magnetic coils and transmitting power, what Nikola
Tesla did more than a century ago:

"Wireless power transfer is old news-more than a century ago, Nikola
Tesla built magnetic coils that transmitted power without cables. But
Tesla's coils also tended to expel bursts of superhot plasma. This past
June, MIT researchers announced their own coil-based breakthrough in
wireless electricity-called WiTricity-that's mercifully plasma-free.

WiTricity exploits a phenomenon known as magnetically coupled resonance,
which allows two objects resonating at the same frequency to exchange
energy efficiently. The team was able to wirelessly power a 60-watt
light bulb using a pair of 20-in.-dia. copper coils. Drawing power from
an electrical outlet, the source coil created a magnetic field, which
was 7 ft. in diameter, transmitting at a frequency of 10 MHz. (Many
cellphones, by com-parison, operate at 2 GHz.) Seven feet away, a
receiving coil was also resonating at 10 MHz, pulling enough energy from
the field to power an attached light bulb.

Because it transmits at such a low frequency, WiTricity's magnetic field
passes through intervening objects, and doesn't appear to pose a threat
to people or pets. Within five years, the team hopes to release a
commercial product with better power efficiency, a larger field and more
compact coils, capable of running or charging multiple devices."

Re: [EVDL] All of original Tesla patents

Our whole bodies and those of all life on earth are reactive to the
natural schuman resonance of earth which is a magnetic and electric
resonant field that encircles the earth caused by solar winds .

I shudder to think what having all these manmade electric fields will do
to life on earth if this catches on.

It is amazing that even today people think that if you don't see it then
it can't harm you.

Our bodies are electirc and our very minds indicate their state of
concentration through subtle readable changes in their electron ,agnetic
frequencies measured in hospitals through ecg s.

What will happen if your very brain is triggered by external frequencies
in the home?

This is amazingly stupid.

Re: [EVDL] All of original Tesla patents

This subject is rather distantly related to EVs and also tends to engender
arguments which, to put it politely, are not always firmly founded in
scientific fact.

Could we please limit our Tesla discussions to the car named after him?

Thanks.
