Thanks! Coming from 'Mr. Kilowatt', that's a high compliment that means
a lot to me.

I am considering swapping-in the lowest gear set we have, the 4:57 gears
from the 2005 season, to see what we can do this coming weekend. Summer
is supposed to return from mid-week through the weekend with 80's and
sunshine. With a strong hole shot again (1.58-1.59 expected), I think an
11.7-something is possible even considering that WZ is pushing 2700 lbs.
with the 844 lb. lead acid Enersys pack and the extra 100 lbs. of roll cage.

Dream mode on......It's fun to think ahead to 2008, where with possible
sponsorship, there could be a 2250 lb. 500 hp White Zombie roaming the
streets and the track with twin lithium packs (200 lbs. + 200 lbs.),
twin Zilla Z2Ks (yes, I have two of them), no series-parallel shifting,
and a full 2000 amps on each motor section pretty much all the way down
the track with no power interruption. If this happens, the rear quarter
panels would be cut free from their fender well arches, bowed-out
several inches, then new arched steel sections would be welded into the
inner wheel arches to make room for 10 inch wide drag slicks. A new 4
link in back is already in the planning stages. Appropriately, wheelie
bars would be part of the changes. I imagine such a machine would have a
1.4-something 60 ft. hole shot and that it would run low 10s or possibly
high 9s and still have a 100 mile range per charge, too!

See Ya.....John 'Plasma Boy' Wayland

500 electric HP and 2250lb !!!
imho you should add on your to do list a parachute for stopping WZ at end of
the track
and at least an anti-Gravity suit for Tim also
:^)

waiting to see first launch,
dont forget to call Nasa center to ask for a stratospheric windows
ok i'm just to impatient to see that run !

OK Dennis, when are you going to race the Zombie? You're almost as fast now,
can you crank it up some more?

John has had 13 years to prep the zombie, this will be the S10s 3rd time at
the track.Besides that he has at least 40% more battery power and a lighter
car.I do not want to hurt anything on the truck,I still want to use this as a
daily driver.I will be making a slight ratio change for this friday night and then
after a couple of runs crank up that wonderful zilla controller another 50
battery amps as I did this past weekend. With all the kids cars there I can only
get in about 4 runs.I have been wanting to take the truck to the track more
but the monsoon season has gotten in the way.

Do not force this race.I will be ready soon enough. I restate the
above post John is doing a great job with the zombie,he has my respect.

Jim, since 'when' was 13.0 "almost as fast" as 11.4? OK, maybe lithium
is an unfair comparison. How 'bout since 'when' was 13.0 "almost as
fast" as 11.8? I know you're a serious drag racer, so you 'do' know
there's a HUGE difference between 13.0 and 12.5, right? Going from 12.5
to 11-anything is another HUGE step.

Dennis doing 13 flat in his new S10, is terrific. That's a quick street
machine that will beat most street cars he may run up against. Keep in
mind, I was running 13.1 seven years ago, and it has taken me this long
to get to where we are now, but with lithium as an option these days,
pretty much anyone can run 12s I would suspect. A set of stout and light
weight lithiums in Dennis' truck would certainly push it into the low
12's-high 11s, and with Dennis' skills and has fox-crafty attitude, it
is almost certain that he will beat me into the 10s if I don't pay
attention to my rear view mirror!

I have no doubt that Dennis will get his truck into the high 12s very
soon, again, a very impressive feat with just a single string of lead
acid Hawkers! I can hardly wait to read his post when he does! Can he
get it into the mid 12s with just a single string of non-lithium
Hawkers? I doubt it. However, Dennis is VERY competitive, and if anyone
can make me eat my words, he can :) If he were to double up his pack,
even with the extra pack weight, his Zilla could be properly fed and his
S10 pickup would go deep into the 12s.

See Ya....John Wayland

Dennis, are you afraid of the Zombie? I can remember when you were waving a
$1000 check around when I built my dragster 8-10 years ago and then took it
back when I got close to your times, and shortly after beat you once at Las
Vegas and once at Woodburn...................now you are back pedaling from
John, come on big shooter, draw your guns.

Jim Ludiker.................still the quickest lead acid, two speed,
electric dragster in the Universe...... 9.44 et @ 135mph.
