48v is a common voltage in the Telco (telephone) industry, so there are
many off-the-shelf power supplies that deliver this voltage.

A 144v pack is a little low, but most switching supplies designed for
120vac will work acceptably on 144vdc. You just have to be sure you get
one that does not use a voltage doubler on the input, as these won't
work on DC. Supplies with a voltage doubler are usually marked
"120/240vac" and have a jumper or switch or something to switch between
voltages.
