Re: [EVDL] li magnanesse battery AND their drawbacks..

Traditionally LiMn cells have had quite poor cycle stability. Around 500
real life cycles compared to LiCo 1000 with same cycling profile. It is
nicely cheaper to make compared to LiCo but the LiFePO4 took that cake
already. It is just so dirty cheap that Manganese cells got ran over.

Also there has been issues with Manganese cells with thermal stability.
Lifetime is dramatically reduced on high temperatures (50-80 C).

LiCo cells are a bit easier to ignited than LiMn ones. But the
difference is quite marginal. Also the energy amount in the weight is
about 20 % better on LiCo.

I've seen some new innovations on LiMn during visits in China. Prices
thou have been outrageous. So I bet on two other horses. LiCo for energy
dense systems and LiFePO4 for large commerzial sedan tupe vehicle fleets.
