Two megawatt-hours of energy. Don't we wish! That would give a reasonably
efficient EV 10,000 miles of range.

Then it would need something over two and a half days to charge, using the
entire electrical capacity of a typical suburban home. (That's based on the
last 20% of the charge taking about as long as the initial 80%.)

Journalists can be pretty entertaining, eh?

Since this quote said "hybrid lithium-ion batteries", I'm guessing the
original author really meant 2000 watt-hours or 2 kilowatt hours and the
journalist added the extra multiplication. That would indeed be something a
little too small to get a car very far.
