Really, so I have to throw away my Insight now :( I guess I should have never replaced the battery pack and it's definitely time to get rid of my 40 year old Datsun truck (EV). Seriously though, I know what your saying, that is a reasonable to expect a car to start to fall apart in this time frame. Ten years and 170K miles is a lot of use, but I'm really hoping to get another 10 years of life out of my Insight. The funny thing is that I always planned on converting it to an EV when it got this old, but I love it too much just like it is... In fact my whole family loves it and we all still fight over who gets to drive it. Hopefully some of these new EV options will inspire the same kind of consumer loyalty.
