I've been waiting for a report as well, and I was there. Since John has no=
t posted yet I can tell you that WZ danced around in the low 12s all night =
but never dropped into the 11s. I think it went something like 12.2, 12.1,=
then a couple of 12.0 runs. I thought I saw some motor zorch under the ca=
r on the last run I watched and it looked like they were packing up with st=
ill a couple of hours worth of racing left. =

And yes John and Rich were in geek buzz heaven playing with charging from t=
he Plugin Prius. If it were still back in the days of the noisy generators=
I would have thought it was pretty cool, but since PIR has lots of free, c=
lean electricity I didn't really get too excited. Not nearly as excited as=
the day when they started plugging in to the grid and could shut down thos=
e obnoxious generators. =

This was not a normal night at PIR, as it was part of the Street Warriorz r=
acing series. http://www.streetwarriorz.com/ The people running the show=
had heard of White Zombie and were excited to see it at the track, but tha=
t is the part of the story that you really need to hear from John and I exp=
tect he will be posting Part 1 some time soon....

Re: [EVDL] Report on Zombie racing 8/25/07

Hey all

I wasn't there but have gotten a little info from
John. First off, the Siamese 8 had a little issue at
the track 8^( although from the sounds of it it wasn't
entirely the motors fault 8^P

The story goes that earlier in the day the Zombie
found itself having to back up on an incline (fairly
steep from what I hear). Being just the front is
engaged during reverse and the fact that it's running
at 15 degrees retarded now, it hasn't been real happy
about it lately (you can see the brushes purpling
harder after EVery reverse 8^( Well it sounds as if
Tim stalled it resulting in four really overheated
comm bars. Hey Tim, that's the story as Wayland tells
it, LMAO!!!

>From the reports that Johns shared with me (yes
there's a post coming, he's just been dogged lately)
the Zombie had all but beat a Z06 Corvette as it had
the lead on it for most the track (even with the guy
red-lighting) but those hurt commbars reared their
ugly head and arced and Tim had to get out of it and
coasted the last bit and finish with a 12 second flat
run with the Corvette just passing it just before the
end of the track 8^( John says he felt an 11.750
would have been run with a win to boot. I'm sure John
was bummed and he told me he knew why it arced.
Of course hindsights and what if's are a bitch 8^o

John drove it home and if not pounding the go peddle
she's doing okay but I'll have to get my eyeballs on
her to give a better report. Maybe I can get the damn
thing from John long enough to add an ajustable timing
ring to that front half so they can shift between
timing for reversing. Being John's a lot like Gollem
from Lord of the Rings with his "Precious" we'll see
if he will allow me some time with it or whether I'll
bandaid the poor thing and send it back out to battle,
LMAO!!!!

I've been waiting for Johns report but told him I
would toss something out to the list as to his latest
adventure. Anyway that's racing, sometimes you cook
the competition, sometimes you cook your motor 8^(
Although I'm a little more understanding IF IT HAPPENS
AT THE TRACK!!!! and not backing up 8^P

It just goes to show that John will stoop to newer and
lower levels to break stuff 8^P What can a motor guy
do?

Anyway that's the poop from here.
