Most DC series wound motors are essentially forklift motors being run at a much higher voltage. Usually as the voltage goes up the timing on the motor is advanced to help prevent arcing, but this is not always the necessary. Forklift motors are designed to be put under a heavy load and run all day long. In warehouses with 3 shifts, they can run around the clock. Most EVs do not even have enough battery power to run for a full hour without a recharge, so the motors being used in forklifts in the warehouse environment are being stressed much more than the ones in EVs. You could even think of your EV as the motors equivilant of retiring to Florida
