Re: [EVDL] Winter & EVs

My single 1500W PTC Ceraminc element (actually 1850W with high fan) is plenty to keep the cab of my small pickup warm in 0* F
ambient. Much lower it does really become marginal. Parking in a heated garage (55*F) helps quite a bit for my 7 mile run into
the office. On my way home (in 0* F) it might take 4 to 5 minutes to reach room temp in the cab. the extra volume inside a
passenger car with all that extra glass surface radiating area would definitely make it chilly riding in the winter with a single
element. But ask John Wayland. His dual elements in the Datsun 1200 makes it quite toasty, real quick in that little car. Read
John's excellent commentary on the subject here: http://www.evsource.com/articles/heater_compare.php
