I think you're over-reacting. (I kind of feel like I accidentally tuned in
the wrong radio station. ;-) The federal motorpool could hardly have found a
more conservative approach than buying bland, gasoline-only "hybrids."

Personally, I rather like the idea that they're using less of my tax money
to buy the fuel for their vehicles. I approve much more of this than I
would of them buying 2-ton 15-mpg vehicles for their workers to drive.

I'd like it even more if they were buying real EVs! That would stimulate
demand, get EVs more in the public eye, and help the automakers achieve
economy of scale.

BTW, for the record, this is a list about EVs, not about non-plug hybrids.
There are plenty of other places on the net to discuss those.
