With that yellow cap, it looks like it may be a service replaced part -- doesn't look new. Is it?

A measuring tape might be useful so people can see sizes of stuff. It looks smaller than a '250 for some reason.

That is not an HVH 250, is it? The rotor looks a lot smaller than 10 inches in diameter.

You still didn't provide the measuring tape photo. "I'm selling apples, here's a link to an orange"

In any case, it's a transmission cartridge that is in no way worth as much as an HVH250 in a housing, imo....it'd cost a small fortune to machine a case for it for the cooling system to work properly.

That $550 is where I stopped bidding on that real-HVH250-in-a-case auction, by the way.

now im confused, the motors talked about in the link i posted are the same as the motor i have listed for sale

i suggest you read the thread. people have posted cad drawings of the motor and their custom housing designs

one person in the thread i posted above said that the motor with part no. A 722 340 00 16 (the same as the motor im selling) is comparable to the hvh250 90s, i have no idea if this is correct or not, although at the end of the thread an employee of cascadia motion posted that this motor isnt a standard hvh250 meaning the maps they provide wont be suitable and a qualified person would need to create a map with a dyno to get this motor working with an rms/cascadia controller

The link has a bunch of confused people posting these as HVH250 in that thread, intermixed with what they may really be.

They look smaller and the output rating appears too low to be an HVH-250, though that may be related to the application voltage:

Someone allegedly from Cascadia states these are not HVH250's and their inverters do not work with them.

There's also speculation it's a Remy-manufactured cartridge, yet several manufacturers now use hairpin windings.

@brian_ may know what they are.

Like many threads in this forum, a lot of activity, but no successful conclusion.

This cartridge's integration is not easy - a custom housing with properly mating cooling ports and a bearing and a custom shaft needing to be precision machined.

These hybrid transmissions are from the Global Hybrid Cooperation era. It is reasonable to assume that all transmissions from this joint venture use the same family of motor cartridges - and likely all came out of the same GM Powertrain factory - and certainly the ones used by GM were from Remy. When Remy (now BorgWarner) states in promotional material that a huge number of HVH motors have been made, they must be referring to these hybrid system cartridges, since there were no other high-volume applications of these motors prior to recent EVs.

Measurements would help. Different motor characteristics between an HVH 250 and these hybrid cartridges are presumably winding configuration differences.
