Simple help with Battery connectors

Hello,

I have a Zotye 5008 EV (Daihatsu Terios EV swapped) With battery issues.

I want to drop the battery packs and have some questions regarding safety.

Is it safe for me to disconnect andreconnect the battery leads when the "ignition" is off? The contactors are controlled by thatright?

Also, How do these connectors in the pictures work? They look like they work like pneumatic connectors. I really don't want to yank on them before knowing how they work.

No, it's not safe.

Always assume the contactors have failed and the wires are live.

Use personal protective equipment, triple check for voltages, use insulated tools.

Assume the builder or tech that worked on it before you was an idiot.
