As I have been repeating for years now, falling battery prices will make solar plus batteries competitive even with coal (usually the cheapest power source) in the near term.

Note the "by 2028," which means no later than but possibly / probably earlier than. That predicted date is NLT 2027 in the U.S.

These reports suggest that > 70% of electrical energy production in the U.S. and China will be alternative based by 2050, more than the 50% I have been predicting by that date.
