My Elcon 3kw arrived with a 6-20 plug (non locking), for some reason finding an adapter to get into my 14-30 (non locking) dryer plug seems uncommon. Such a common charger and even more common outlet I thought it would be an easier find. Am I missing some information?

The charger has been set to max 15a internally when on 110v so does that mean I can adapt the 6-20 to 5-15 without worry?

Was this internal work done by you, if so can you explain what was done? Did you happen to notice that the Line and Neutral wires are not connected properly according to the circuit board labels? There is a 30 amp fuse internally on the Neutral path. i've seen several of these chargers that burned up some big resistors inside in order to 'save' the fuse ...

The 3kw unit internally is two 1.5 kw units in parallel and would have to draw more than 15 amps normally on 120vac.

the 15a limit for 120v was set by the place I ordered from (evassemble, or wherever they get it from). They asked me if I wanted that limitation when I ordered it. I assumed that must be a common request. Since I will be charging at gf house often it sounded like a good idea to me!
