Tesla Model 3 pack HV connector OEM?

2809 Views 7 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  Fredd90
I'm looking for mating connectors for the rear traction motor output for the Model 3 packs (HV connector to rear motor).

Does anyone know the correct part number?

It looks like it may be Rosenberger, possibly HVR300 series HKK204-W20070B1-Y? Is there special tooling required to build cables with these connectors? If so, any ideas on a source to build a wire harness?

If this is indeed the connector the assembly process in very involved, with ultrasonic welding and special fixturing required. https://products.rosenberger.com/_ocassets/ma/MA_HV0108.pdf
....and Tesla won't sell you parts unless you own a car and the part is not "restricted"

Another reason to buy a Chevy or Ford

Have you looked on eBay? Most likely there's people selling these secondhand there.
Yeah, I can find the OEM harness, but I was hoping to have a complete run to my inverter without a splice. Looking into a proper insulated and crimped splice that will pass the insulation test and waterproofing is probably the easier option it seems.

Well, not /another/ but I'll buy that it is /a/ reason.

Oh yes, one of the many different mainstream Ford electric cars.

I bought an original piece from ebay, unfortunately it was aluminiumcable..

I solved it by using alu-cu crimp. Not the optimal solution. I got m3 AWD battery. With two connectors. I will use the both in parallel.

My firs option was to replace alu cable with copper, but there is not much room in the contact. Alu cable is "welded" to cu tab
