The optimisation in the inverter design is amazing - down from 84 paralleled cheap TO-247 IGBTs in the model S to just 24 Silicon Carbide FETs.
Using a block of ferrite passing though the PCB to turn printed tracks into a planar transformer for gate drive isolation is brilliant.
