Another Canadian hybrid-hugger, two decades late to the party, that clearly didn't get the memo that we no longer need to burn shit for mobility. Then again, these shills are everywhere, trying to slow EV adoption.

All 30-ish mile electric-only hybrids have been mediocre market successes to total failures.

Batteries have come down in cost to the point where lugging an ICE around makes zero sense, especially when you start each and every morning with 250 miles of range.

As far as conversions go, nobody sane scratchbuilds CAR/TRUCK batteries from cylindrical cells like the ebike crowd does - it invites a burndown because of power levels.

It's also MORE work to do a hybrid conversion than it is to rip everything out and go all-electric. The car usually retains its full utility doing this full EV conversion and handles well, unlike your hybrid which would handle like a wheelbarrow full of six guys standing in it, but can only carry two people.

Hybrids are greenwashing. You're quoting all the talking points you were given. All the theoreticals.

Then there are the real stats: "Dangerous distraction:" Plug-in hybrids pollute up to seven times more than advertised

A replacement EV pack should cost around $6k net, after 200,000 to 300,000 miles of use - they are useful in secondary markets, including to this community you waltzed into. Your talking point numbers are obsolete.

We needed to extract gasoline out of the ground, and continue to do so...600 gallons for every unit, for every year, for infinity...a volume extracted in one year out of the ground that exceeds a one-time extraction of plentiful lithium salt from dry lakes and geothermal sites that then is recycled indefinitely.

Ice cars are not already hybrids. The starters don't have the duty cycle rating. The transmissions in 90% or more of cars out there are automatics...they CANNOT be pushed with their inputs unpowered. The extra unnecessary weight of the ICE and its systems requires 25% more energy consumption than if they were outright deleted to produce a 30 mile range car.

A hybrid's ICE has to stay hot. That means cycling very often, or polluting like crazy when cold.

No, hybrids suck. They had their time in the early millennium. Not now.

We can no longer burn shit - this year is unprecedented and you are putting in an appearance for your handlers here by advocating for more shitting in the air.
