What motor? Photo of the motor with the terminals shown. It may help. Do you know which terminals are the field terminals? Is your motor series or sepex? Does your motor only have two terminals or four or three or six?
Sorry, motor english St Mary's cray electro dynamics 36v series from a forklift c1970? It has been working in 2 previous applications, 68 Hillman and 1989 subaru and is now in a 1988 toyota dyna mounted behind the gearbox using direct drive and will give 40kmh for 4ks on scrapyard T105's. I have reversed the field connections to change dor for each application, so there is no problem with that.I have had the alternator working but would like a more knowledgeable opinion as to the field wiring. I have researched wiki and realize that a 10% gain is normal, but as the 2.5 diesel is for higher speeds it will not reduce battery life and the alternator will charge when on the ICE. The dyna photo is current, but I intend to offset the direct drive with a 40:25 reduction to assist low speed starts and to allow the motor to operate at higher rpm. As is it is now starting in direct fourth gear. I assume that this is drawing too many amps as compared to lower gearing.I am not cashed up and would appreciate any advice. Thanks
