I believe many people would pick an option called "Waiting for technology to mature." It's common belief that the technology simply isn't there yet. We all know that's not true, but battery prices are telling a different story IMO...
Tesla, Tango, and the Phoenix vehicles show that the technology is there if you have the money.
While I started getting the parts for my conversion, I figured I'd get the batteries last so as to not have them just sitting around. In a matter of a couple of weeks the prices went up from the $170 per battery to $240. I hear they are due for another increase in another week. I ended up swallowing the increase but that means putting other parts of the conversion on hold until I save some more pennies.
