Pickup trucks are for tradies - they drive to the worksite and the pick up is a giant tool kit

The Tesla pickup will have mains power for all of their tools and the Tesla anti vandalism software with the auto drive cameras to keep a beady eye on their tools

Mains power without having to wait for a sparky will be a MAJOR plus to people who actually USE their pick ups

Here in North America, while there are many pickups used this way, and many in working corporate fleets, they're probably outnumbered by pickups owned by individuals and used to tow personal trailers, or carry stuff for personal use, or just to serve as a car for guys who like the truck image.

The Rivian pickup is not for trades workers, and an AC power outlet is more likey to be used to run a television at an outdoor party or campsite than to run any power tool. If the Tesla pickup is ever built it could be anything, but Musk's ramblings refer to the Ford F-150 - the most popular recreational pickup - rather than trucks intended for commercial use. Pevious hybrid pickups with power outlets have been failures in the market.
