Yamaha moped conversion

Hi All,

First of all, I'm a complete newbie.

I am looking to buy this 1986 Yamaha Jog to convert to an EV, and was wondering if anyone had any advice.

I've found some electric motors on ebay, forklift motors, generally 12-24v, 2-4hp. I want to do this as cheap as possible, and I was wondering what kind of controllers/batteries I should look at and where I could find them. My knowledge of electronics isn't great but I am dedicated and want to learn.
