My first attempt is a 2003 corolla which I bought from a neighbor for $300.
His son ran it for a week with no oil! I changed the trans to a manual and had an adapter made for a Warp9 motor. I plan on using 144 volts in the form of 12-12 v AGM batts. I know the range will be low but can't see where I could put 24-6 v. Since it is a front wheel drive I have to put batts under the rear seat, in front of the rear axcel otherwise I might loose traction. For charging I was going to but onboard 3 banks of 4 ea individuals to each batt so I won't have to worry about balancing and the AGM batts have to be charged at 14.5 volts or they will be damaged! Hows this sound so far??:D

Sounds ok so far...

14.5v might be a bit low for maximum life of your AGM's, might be a bit undercharged which is bad for lead (great for lithium though!)

I think charge voltage can vary between brands, 14.7v is the norm. but if yours state 14.5v go with it.

I'd expect a safe range of about 25 miles from 12 AGM's assuming 100Ah or more capacity.

Lets have some piccies... ;)

I had a friend from high school with an old straight-6 F-150 truck. It was running rough so he took it in to the shop. To quote the mechanic, "Well your truck holds 5 quarts of oil and you were 5 quarts low." The straight-6 engine is pretty awesome.

Good luck! (And I second the pictures!)

I installed a manual trans after I had the adapter made. Because it is a transverse mount I am able to use the ice engine mount I just had to get an L attachement made for thr front of the warp-9. These are photos up to this point. As soon as I can I will be mounting the warp and I will update the pics. For the deka AGM it states at least 14.4 volts but no more than 14.6 volts at 68 F. I have not gotten the batts yet so I will see if this changes!
